Cansu Cürgen

Architect and scholar, co-founder of Ambiguous Standards Institute (ASI). Her research interests include daily life studies, open design practices and architectural debates on regulatory principles and standards. She teaches at Istanbul Bilgi University and pursues her PhD studies at Istanbul Technical University. Recently, she has served as an associate curator of Vardiya project and editor of the book with the same title, representing the Pavilion of Turkey in the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.

Avşar Gürpınar
Istanbul Bilgi University
Faculty of Architecture

Scholar, designer and engineer, co-founder of Ambiguous Standards Institute. Holds degrees in Electrical Engineering (B.Sc) and Industrial Product Design (MSc, PhD). He participated in the Digital Media MA program in HfK Bremen. He currently works as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul Bilgi University. His research, teaching and writing focus on critical design, cultural studies and history of art and design. His works and collaborative projects are exhibited in Istanbul Design Biennials, Istanbul Modern Museum, Milano Design Week, Designmai Berlin, Luma Arles and Hong Kong. Recently, he has co-authored the book Daily Life Studies Publication No. 1 and curated The New Domesticity: Furniture Issue exhibition in Dutch Design Week 2016 in Eindhoven.

Hazal Kırıkçı

Designer, illustrator, and dreamer born and raised in Antalya. She is a student at Istanbul Bilgi University, Industrial Design Department and expecting graduation summa cum laude in July 2019. She has been creating custom and editorial illustrations under the name of  'duseyasimptot' since 2015. Along with product design and illustration, she is interested in design research, and critical design thinking particularly in relation to everyday life and culture.
